Tour 1 - CORCOVADO AND CHRIST THE REDEEMER
At Cosme Velho, the traditional neighborhood in the Southern Zone, we get on the train that will take us up to the Corcovado Mountain. Considered by many the highlight of Rio, the one-hundred and twenty feet height Statue of Christ the Redeemer stands a top the Corcovado overlooking a striking view of Rio de Janeiro.

The welcome cocktail party for the directors of Intercoiffure and attendees from the 52 member countries will bring together almost 800 participants in the pool and garden areas of the InterContinental Rio Hotel.
A unique decoration has already been planned for the event grounds. A contemporary buffet with a flair of tropical food and fusion delicacies and heavenly beverages will be served. Several lounges interspersed in the gardens, live Brazilian music inviting to the dance floor. The guests will enjoy this warm welcome with a splendorous and breathtaking view of the São Conrado beach and Pedra da Gávea, one of the most striking landscapes of Rio de Janeiro.
During the event there will be a welcome ceremony with addresses by the president of Intercoiffure Mondial, the president of Intercoiffure Brazil, the president of ICD Rio 2008, the mayor of Rio de Janeiro and representatives of both worldwide sponsors.

During the Prestige Shows of the World presentation the buffet service will be available at Oca Amazonas

Stage presentations by international hairstylists and beauty professionals have been scheduled in the program for the Prestige Shows of the World that will catch the attention of attendees and the media. Split over two days (Monday and Tuesday) the presentations will be held at the Gávea A/B rooms of the InterContinental Rio Hotel, with a 1000 people seating capacity, auditorium style. The stage for the presentations will be built according to technical specifications of Intercoiffure Mondial and the room will be equipped with several special projection screens, to enable all participants to follow details of the professionals work performing on the stage.

The Cocktail Party and the Junior Stage at the Sugar Loaf should become an unforgettable moment of ICD Rio 2008. The event will feature shows, new talents and the stunning view of Rio de Janeiro, taking place at Morro da Urca, the first stage of the famous twin mountains of the Sugar Loaf. And there, 720 height feet above sea level, overlooking dramatically to Copacabana Beach and Guanabara Bay, the Intercoiffure Juniors will be performed!
The attendees staying at the InterContinental Rio Hotel will be transferred by bus and vans up to the base of the Sugar Loaf and will go up to Morro da Urca by the worldwide famous “bondinho” (cable car), in a seven-minute ride.
A cocktail will welcome the guests at the Discs Belvedere, an open area presenting a view over the city, Copacabana Beach and Guanabara Bay. At the Discs there will be three platforms covered by tensile structures, with lounges, cocktail area and electronic music. At 8:30 PM the Junior Stage will take place at the Morro da Urca Theatre. This theatre has a covered area with retractable roof and capacity for 1,000 people, including a dance-floor, stage, dressing rooms and backstage areas. The Junior Stage show will present a mix of international and Brazilian music and a Samba School from Rio de Janeiro will close the performance. The party will continue after the show, with cocktails and dance music until midnight.
